Whether your child is interested in an associate degree program leading to a bachelor's degree or an associate degree or certificate program leading immediately to a career, Lake Land College can help. The student is the most important person at Lake Land College. While here, your child will receive quality instruction from highly qualified and caring faculty. The average class size is 12, so faculty are able to know their students. They are also available during established office hours when students can drop in for help The college's sensible tuition and financial aid programs can make college life a lot easier for your family. You can save up to $18,000 if your child attends Lake Land rather than a four-year university for the first two years of college. Our textbook rental system saves students up to $1,200 a year. That's an additional $2,400 you will be pocketing for the future. More than 50 percent of our students receive financial aid and more than 400 students received a scholarship from the Lake Land College Foundation. Our counselors are available to meet with you and your child and assist you in mapping an educational plan. They are experts in program requirements and transfer requirements for four-year institutions. There is an independently-owned housing complex adjacent to campus and housing opportunities in Mattoon. A Subway® and vending machines on campus provide meal options. On campus, students have access to several computer labs and the latest in technology in the classrooms and the Virgil H. Judge Learning Resource Center. Our faculty are teaching courses on the Internet and supplementing coursework with web-based learning.
