Julio Godinez

The 2012-2013 season will mark the first year of Julio being a part of the Laker Baseball Program.  Before Godinez's arrival to Mattoon, IL Julio spent the 2011-2012 season as a Student Assistant at Graceland University.  Coach Godinez worked as the bullpen coach for the Yellow jacket staff.  Julio also spent the summers of 2011 and 2012 as Assistant Baseball Coach for Murray High School in Murray, IA.

Coach Godinez is from Chicago, IL where he went to St. Rita High School.  After St. Rita High School Julio then played at Kishwaukee College.  After his two years at Kishwaukee, Godinez took his talents to Graceland University, where in his Junior Year he was named First Team All Conference as a Catcher, and during his Senior Year was named Honorable Mention All Conference as a Catcher.  In between Julio’s Junior and Senior year he played for the Rockford Foresters in the Midwest Collegiate League.
