The Presidential Search Advisory Committee met most recently on January 17 to select candidates to be invited to participate in confidential preliminary interviews with the search committee. These candidates were selected on the basis of reference calls made by the committee members and our consultant because their background and experience seemed especially consistent with the presidential qualities and qualifications established for our search. On completion of preliminary interviews, the committee will select three or four candidates who will be recommended to the Board as finalists and who will be invited to participate in more extensive on-campus interviews in February and to meet with various constituents.
The committee is very pleased with the quality of the semi-finalist candidates and is confident that the search will move to finalist interviews on campus in February. If you have questions, please direct them to me or to Robert Parilla, our consultant.
December 5, 2012
The search for our next president is progressing on schedule. The search advisory committee met most recently on December 4 and selected candidates whose background and experience seem especially consistent with the CEO qualities and qualifications established for the search. At this time, references for these candidates are being checked by committee members and by our consultant. The committee will meet again in mid-January to discuss the results of our reference calls and to select candidates who will be invited to confidential preliminary interviews with the search advisory committee. On completion of that round of interviews, the committee will select finalist candidates to be recommended to the Board and will be asked to participate in more extensive interviews with a broad range of campus constituents in late February 2013. We will notify you of the specific dates and times of these final interviews as soon as they are scheduled.
We are very pleased with our progress and have every reason to believe that our search will come to a successful conclusion. If you have any questions, please direct them to Lana Fuller, lfuller@lakeland.cc.il.us, or to Robert Parilla, our consultant, e-mail: Robert.parilla@agbsearch.com).
November 14, 2012
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) has taken several steps since the last progress report. Recruiting and advertising began in October. The PSAC met on November 13 and reviewed, tested, and adopted a draft rating form that members will use in assessing applicants for the presidency. The committee members also made plans for individually reviewing each candidate’s application materials. The committee will meet again in December to share members’ individual ratings of candidates and to reduce the pool to a smaller group whose references will be checked.
Your comments and questions are welcome at any time. You may write to the Chair, Robert Luther, in care of Lana Fuller or you may contact our consultant, Robert Parilla, at his e-mail address: robert.parilla@agbsearch.com. We will treat any information you provide as confidential.
October 5, 2012
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) met on October 2, 2012. At the meeting the Committee approved an advertisement and an advertising and recruiting plan. The members also reviewed a draft Presidential Search Profile prepared by our consultant based on his interviews during his previous visit. After some revisions, we adopted the Profile, and it will be posted on our web site and the AGB Search web site by next week. The Profile will be sent to many other colleges, universities and organizations as part of our candidate recruiting effort. Beginning next week, the AGB will be placing electronic ads in several publications. Every effort will be made to recruit the best possible pool of presidential candidates. The PSAC again will meet in mid-November to begin reviewing candidate applications.
Your comments and questions are welcome at any time. You may write to the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Robert Luther, in care of Lana Fuller or you may contact our consultant, Robert Parilla, at Robert.parilla@agbsearch.com. Any information you provide will remain confidential.
