The Lake Land College Kluthe Center for Higher Education and
Technology, which began offering classes during the fall of
1995, is the colleges first permanent extension center. Each year, nearly
2,500 residents enroll in more than 150 different classes
during the day, evening and weekend, making it the largest
extension center in the college' district and in the state.
The
two-story, 24,000 square foot structure is the home of the
colleges Physical
Therapist Assistant program, The Massage Therapy Program The
center hosts 7 classrooms, a multi - media lab used for distance
education classes, nursing lab, physical therapist assistant
/massage therapy lab, science lab, conference room, student lounge, 5 computer
labs, resource room, and 14 offices. |

| The
latest in computer technology including computers with CD-ROM,
networked labs, Internet and computers linked to campus computer
labs are offered in the five computer labs. The newest addition
to the Kluthe Center is the Consuello Luttrell Resource Room,
named after the late Consuello Luttrell who was a driving
force in the development of the Kluthe Center.The Resource
Room offers eight multi-media computer stations in an open
lab setting. Funding for the computers was provided by the
Effingham TIFF district. |

Office hours are 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:00 p.m., Friday (summer
hours vary).
