Bob Pancoast Bob Pancoast, President

Mr. Pancoast recently retired as executive vice president of Busey Bank-Decatur, having served previously as president and trust officer of First Trust Bank of Shelbyville. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and attended the School of Banking at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is currently involved with the Decatur Memorial Hospital Foundation, Shelby Memorial Hospital Association Board of Directors, Little Theatre on the Square Board of Directors and the Shelbyville Rotary Club.
 
Amy Spain Amy Borntrager, Vice President

Ms. Borntrager, Mattoon, credits Lake Land for making an important contribution to the social, cultural and economic quality of the community. As a board member, she hopes to support the college’s efforts to develop our community through learning. Ms. Borntrager is the chief financial officer of the Coles Moultrie Electric Co-op and is a Rotarian and member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She received a bachelor's of science business accounting from Eastern Illinois University. 

 

 
Nancy Huels Nanci Huels, Secretary

Dr. Huels is the owner of Huels Veterinary Services in Altamont, Ill. She currently serves on the St. Anthony Memorial Hospital Community Advisory Council, the Effingham Area Catholic Charities Advisory Board and is a member of the Greater Effingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry where she is a past president. Currently, Dr. Huels is a member of the Altamont Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Vision 20/20 Education Committee. Dr. Huels graduated with a bachelor’s degree in domestic animal biology and completed her master’s degree in domestic animal parasitology from the University of Arkansas. Additionally, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. Dr. Huels and her husband moved to the Altamont area in 1988 where they started their veterinarian practice. She and her husband have two sons, one of whom is attending Lake Land College.
 
Debbie Benefiel Debbie Benefiel

Mrs. Benefiel is a pharmacy technician at Pearman Pharmacy, Paris. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville. She serves on the Board of Deacons of the Presbyterian Church in Paris and is a member of the Membership and Evangelism Committee. The past president of the Board of Directors of the Paris Community YMCA, Mrs. Benefiel is currently a member of the Heritage Club, a trustee of the Paris YMCA Special Endowment Trust, and the Board of Directors of the Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan.

Dave Frisse Dave Frisse

Mr. Frisse is the owner of Frisse and Brewster Law Offices, LLC in Paris and Terre Haute where he concentrates in business and estate planning law. David lectures extensively and is a contributing author of two books; Love, Money and Control: Reinventing Estate Planning and The Complete Guide to Estate Planning & Financial Planning in Turbulent Times. He received a bachelor's degree in arts from Notre Dame and a master's degree from St. Louis University. He is a member of the American, Illinois and Indiana Bar Associations and was admitted to practice in Illinois, Indiana and Federal Courts. He also is a part of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, David Frisse Band, Vigo County Historical Society, Paris Community YMCA endowment board and the advisory board for fundraising for Ivy Tech Community College.

 
Paul Glenney Paul Glenney

Mr. Glenney is a manager for Masterbrand Cabinets in Arthur. He has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Glenney is a member of the Bix Biederbecke Memorial Society, and the Chicago Artists Coalition. He enjoys rock-climbing, running, playing the piano and sign language.
 
Jennifer Jansen Jennifer Jansen

Mrs. Jansen is the Executive Director for CASA of Effingham County. She attended Lake Land College and received her bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University. Mrs. Jansen is a member of the Illinois CASA Board of Directors, where she serves as the Southern Regional Representative, St. Anthony of Padua Church; Effingham County Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative; Effingham County Committee on Child Abuse, Neglect and Dependency; Noon Rotary; Zonta Club of Effingham and P.E.O. Chapter N.F.

Scott Lensink, Ex-Officio Scott Lensink, Ex-Officio and Interim CEO

Mr. Lensink serves as President of Lake Land College. He has more than 25 years of experience in the Illinois higher education system. He has served on numerous task forces and committees for the Illinois Board of Higher Education and Illinois Community College Board. Most recently, he completed six years as vice president for academic services at Lake Land. He is a member of the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Systems Health Center Board of Directors, the Coles Together Board, Area 23 Workforce Investment Board, East Central Illinois Development Corporation Board and Mattoon Area Community Foundation Board. Lensink has a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College and a master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University.

 
John Livesay John Livesay

Mr. Livesay is the CEO of First National Bank of Pana. He received an associate degree from Lake Land, a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois. He is a member of Rotary International, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana, the Community Banker’s Association of Illinois, Independent Bankers of America, and six aviation-related organizations. Mr. Livesay received the Lake Land College Alumnus Achievement Award in 1987, and was inducted into the Distinguished Alumni Society in 2007.

Mr. Mark Mayhood of Effingham, Ill. is the president of sales and general manager of the North Side Ford-Lincoln car dealership in Effingham. He is a 1976 graduate of Effingham High School and is a member of many civic groups including the Effingham Assembly of God, the Effingham County Committee on Aging and the Effingham Sportsbackers, where he is a past president. Further, Mr. Mayhood is a past member of the Effingham Unit 40 Foundation and a past president of the Effingham New Car Dealers Association. He is an active member of the Effingham Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Mayhood sought to join the Lake Land College Foundation because he strongly believes in the educational opportunities the college offers to east central Illinois. Through his appointment to the Foundation, Mr. Mayhood hopes to expand the quality of education and the opportunities it provides to Effingham and the surrounding areas. Mr. Mayhood and his wife Dianne have two children, both of whom are Lake Land College alumni.

 
Linda McCabe Linda McCabe

Mrs. McCabe is recently retired from serving as Middle School and Elementary School principal in Cerro Gordo.  Prior to that she taught family and consumer science in Shelbyville, where she also held the position of tech prep coordinator and forged articulation agreements and partnerships with the college in the tech prep program.  She received a bachelor’s in science from Illinois State University and a master’s of education from the University of Illinois.

 
Jeff Mefford Jeff Mefford

Mr. Mefford serves as the Illinois region market president of Midland States Bank; responsible for offices in Effingham, Farina, Vandalia, Centralia, and Greenville. Mr. Mefford serves on the bank's executive management committee. He joined Midland States Bank in August 2003. Prior to joining Midland States Bank, Mr. Mefford held the position of president and CEO of Farmers State Bank of Camp Point from 2000-2003, vice president mortgage department manager at Marine Bank from 1998-2000, and vice president small business banking manager for Bank One, Illinois from 1991- 1998. Mr. Mefford received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Illinois College in 1987 and his MBA from William Woods University in 2003.  He is involved in the Noon Rotary, is a board member of the Greater Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, and attends St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church in Effingham.

 
Randal "Randy" J. Miller Randal “Randy” J. Miller

Mr. Miller, a Lake Land alumnus, is president of the Miller Media Group. A graduate of Shelbyville High School, he earned an associate degree in radio / television from Lake Land College. Miller Media Group owns and operates 8 Illinois radio stations serving Taylorville, Pana, Shelbyville, Kewanee, Galva, the Quad Cities, and Clinton. He is a recipient of the 1996 Lake Land College Alumni Achievement Award.
 
Deana Nuxoll Deana Nuxoll

Deana Nuxoll is the president and owner of Imagine This! Marketing Group in Effingham. Nuxoll received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois-Champaign. She currently is a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Rotary International, Effingham YBNext, Effingham Tourism Advisory Board, Effingham Chamber of Commerce and the Mattoon Chamber. She and her husband, Greg, have four young children.

 
Doris Reynolds Doris Reynolds, Board of Trustees Liaison

Mrs. Reynolds serves as the chair of the Lake Land College Board of Trustees and as the trustees’ liaison to the Foundation.  A full-time realtor, she is a licensed and accredited sales associate since 1999. She is a lifelong resident of Coles County, and is a member of East Central Illinois Association of Realtors, Illinois Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Elected in 1993 to the Lake Land Board of Trustees, she has served as vice chair, secretary and as a member of the legislative, resource and development, and building and site committees.  Mrs. Reynolds is a member of the Illinois Community College Trustees Association where she received the Education Award. She is a charter member of the Mattoon Light Works Committee and served as a board member and chair to CCAR. Mrs. Reynolds retired from Consolidated Communication after working 32 years.  She is a graduate of Lake Land College.


 
Preston G. Smith, Vice President Preston G. Smith

Mr. Smith is president of The First National Bank where he oversees branches in Mattoon, Greenville, and Mul berry Grove. Mr. Smith is the immediate past chairman of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois, and is a current board member for the Independent Community Bankers of America. He was formerly executive vice president of Central National Bank of Mattoon. He has served as past president of the Mattoon Area YMCA and Mattoon Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Smith received his bachelor’s degree from Greenville College.

 
Dave Storm Dave Storm

Dave Storm was involved with the initial formation of Lake Land’s Tech Prep Program. While at LLC, he received an associate in applied science degree from Lake Land College, a bachelor of science, business degree from Eastern Illinois University, and a master of business administration degree from Southern Illinois University. He is a Registered Certified Public Accountant and has been the Chief Financial Officer for St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. He was honored by Lake Land’s Board of Trustees as the 2008 Alumnus Achievement Award recipient. He currently is a member of the Effingham Fire and Police Board, Effingham Planning Commission and the St. Anthony High School Booster Club.

Thomas Wright Thomas Wright, Immediate Past President

Mr. Wright has been president of Wright Furniture for the past 20 years. He is also a director of Dieterich First National Bank, past president of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of Cross at the Crossroads Foundation. Mr. Wright received an associate’s degree from Lake Land College and a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from Eastern Illinois University. He is also president of Grace Lutheran Church, board member of DCDC, as well as chairman of Friends of St. Anthony’s Hospital Board, Effingham Community Support Group, Dieterich S.O.S. and Dieterich Ruritan Club and a retired volunteer fireman in Dieterich with over 20 years of service.  He was inducted into the Lake Land College Distinguished Alumni Society in 2007 and received the Alumnus Achievement Award in 2009.

 
David Cox David Cox

Mr. Cox serves Lake Land College as director of the foundation and alumni. He is an alumnus of Lake Land and Eastern Illinois University and has earned his certification in fundraising from Indiana University–Purdue University at Indianapolis. Mr. Cox spent more than 15 years in the communications and print industry before coming to Lake Land College in 2005. Mr. Cox currently sits on the Mattoon City Council serving as commissioner of public properties as well as Illinois state commissioner for Babe Ruth Baseball. He is a past recipient of the "20 under 40" community leader award by Coles Connected as well as the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year Award. He also currently serves on the finance committee for the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation and several other professionally-related groups.

 
Madge Bailey Madge Shoot, Treasurer

Ms.Shoot is the Comptroller for Lake Land College. Ms. Shoot serves as the treasurer of the Lake Land College Alumni Association. Ms. Shoot also teaches adjunct business classes for Lake Land College. She was previously employed as an Assistant Controller for a local manufacturing firm. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s in Business Administration and is also an alumni of Lake Land College.

 
Ray Rieck Ray Rieck

Mr. Rieck currently serves as Vice President for Business Services and Chief Fiscal Officer of Lake Land College.  A member of Lake Land’s Class of ’75, he also holds both B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Rieck conducted enterprises in the automotive, food service, waste management, and property management industries before coming to Lake Land in 1995. First employed as a training specialist for the college’s Center for Business and Industry, Mr. Rieck advanced into administrative roles in Information Systems and Services and Public Safety and Facilities Planning. He then assumed the Vice President role in 2000, and presently manages seven divisions of the college, along with the annual operating budget, while also serving as the president of the Illinois Community College Chief Financial Officers organization. Mr. Rieck is a longstanding, active member of Mattoon and surrounding communities, having served as a board member or officer for organizations such as Mattoon and Effingham Chambers of Commerce, Mattoon Area Family YMCA, Mattoon Knights of Columbus Council, and Catholic Charities of Coles, Edgar, and Douglas Counties. Mr. Rieck and his wife, Diane, have three sons, all of whom are Lake Land College alumni.
