Ribbon cutting ceremony for Phase I (March 11, 1971): About 100 people attended the official opening of the permanent campus to students. The circular buildings, which Board Chairman Clem Phipps described as “an innovation in educational institutions,” would soon welcome over 350 individuals and groups excited to tour the new campus, most notably the Instructional Resource Center.
