25,000th student enrolls at LLC (September 8, 1976): An Effingham High School graduate with a medical technology major, Julie Barton became LLC’s 25,000 student to enroll at the school. President Dr. Webb presented her with a plaque while she was in the registration line. Overall, the college enrolled 3,980 students, with the most notable increase of classes in the vocational-technical programs.
