Paraprofessional Benefits

Vacation Days

10 for the first fiscal year, then 1 additional day per year up to 20 days maximum. (hours are accrued monthly) Maximum carryover 10 days or 80 hours.

Sick Days

12 days per fiscal year (hours are earned monthly). Accumulative to 230 days.

Personal Days

3 per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) Unused days on June 30 will be transferred to sick balance

Tuition Waiver

Employee and dependents are eligible for tuition waivers in credit producing classes. This policy does not apply to required fees.

Retirement

Lake Land College employees are members of the State University Retirement System

Days listed are for 12 months, employment of less than 12 months will be prorated.

Insurance Benefits for Paraprofessionals

The College provides $30,000 term life insurance, at no cost to the employee. Employees may purchase additional term life insurance on themselves and their dependents at their expense.

Medical insurance and dental insurance coverage are provided at no cost to the employee. The College and the employee share the cost of major medical and dental insurance for dependents. The College will pay the lesser of 50% or up to $830.00 on the employee’s optional dependent coverage. Two tiers of dependent coverage are available.
