Honors Program

Selection Criteria

Requirements for the Honors Program focus on academic talents and career goals. To be accepted in the program students must meet the criteria for entering freshmen or current Lake Land College students.

Entering Freshmen

• Must pursue a college transfer major at Lake Land College
• And meet two of the following:
  
  • Graduate in the top 10 percent of his or her high school class.
    
  • Have a composite ACT score of 25 or higher
  • Have a composite 3.5 GPA on a 4-point scale or equivalent

Current Lake Land Students

• Must have a GPA of 3.5 or above after the completion of at least 12 semester hours of Lake Land transfer classes and be enrolled in a college transfer program.

Application Process

Eligible students are encouraged to download and submit an application. In addition to completing the application, students must submit the following.

Entering Freshmen

• A copy of his or her high school transcript
• A copy of his or her ACT record
• Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors or principal
